The 2nd National Stainless Steel Summit, organized in cooperation with PASSAD (Stainless Steel Industry Association) and Istanbul Technical University, brought together leading representatives of the sector at İTÜ under the theme “The Near-Future Transformation of the Stainless Steel Sector in Türkiye”. Our Chairman of the Board, Mahir Engin, took part as a panelist in the session “Türkiye’s Stainless Steel Sector: Opportunities, Risks and Roadmap”.
Moderated by Dr. D. Ali Yaşacan (DAY Consulting), the panel brought together Ahmet Cemil Abiş, Chairman of ACA Metal; Ercüment Ulusay, General Manager of APERAM Türkiye; and Seyong Chun, CCO of Posco Assan TST, to discuss the key topics on the domestic market’s agenda:
- Inventory risk in the face of global volatility
- The balance between fighting unfair competition and manufacturers’ access to competitively priced raw materials
- The impact of safeguard measures on the domestic market
- Steps that can be taken to increase stainless steel consumption
